These dappled ponds are home to one of the most iconic fauna of Wollongong University, the adventurous (and sometimes dangerous!) ducks. Often photographed and patted but never ignored, these ducks rule the beautiful open areas of campus and for the most part are happy to share it with weary students hoping to nap on the grass. These areas are also very popular for people wanting to get away from the hustle bustle of cafes and lectures, the peaceful sounds of running water and nature allowing the perfect space for creative escapes like reading, sketching and even songwriting.
